Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: http://rumored.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

None.

Comments

Comments were handled by Disqus. They’re turned off now. In case I ever turn them back on, go bother them about what information they collect.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

You can’t post here and you can’t upload anything, so we don’t knowingly set any cookies. But who knows when the teenagers who maintain WordPress will suddenly decide it needs to set a cookie for no damn reason whatsoever. If that happens, sue them, not me.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Affiliate Links

I should probably mention that I often have affiliate links to Amazon and other places on the site. I only bring this up in case some asinine truth-in-advertising law is passed at some point requiring me to disclose that if you click on a link that’s clearly an affiliate link and you suddenly discover it’s an affiliate link and that somehow offends you, that’s you’re problem.

Analytics

There’s web site logs and Google Analytics collected on this site. We never look at them and delete them every five years when the disk fills up.

Who we share your data with

Nobody.

How long we retain your data

See above.

What rights you have over your data

None.

Where we send your data

See above.

Additional information

Don’t try any of this at home.

This is a work of fiction.

If you read this far, I’m sorry. I’m only filling this thing out so I can say I have a policy. This is a blog. I don’t know why I even need to explain this. Shakespeare did a joke about lawyers, put that text here.
